Parochial Ed

“Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning.”
Proverbs 9:9

Catholic parochial schools are often but not necessarily, attached to a parish which is open to all children of the parish. Parochial school systems in this way, function as quasi-public educational networks in parallel to the state-school systems. The key difference being that parochial systems function on out-of-pocket tuition and donations to the parish. Although it costs parents more for their children to attend, sacrifices are made by the parish who work to keep parochial education here.

Families of Faith currently has one school, Spalding Academy in St. Michael’s Parish.

“The Mission of Spalding Academy is to generate an educational climate where children are formed in the Catholic Christian Faith. We intentionally promote Gospel values in an academic environment that enables every student to grow spiritually and develop as a responsible member of the Church and society.”

Spalding Academy is a ministry of sacrifice and service provided by the Families of Faith parish, St. Michael’s. As a Catholic educational institution, the parish seeks to provide a Christ-centered community for the instruction of young men and women. Our PK-12 school assists parents in their role as the primary mentors of their children in the ways of faith. To create and combine a spiritual environment with sound academic instruction and extra-curricular activities provides the formation student needs to reach the full human potential. To teach and live as Jesus did, parents, faculty, staff, administration, students, and the parish community model Catholic Christian values through service… discipline… and sacrifice to incorporate the God-given uniqueness of each individual into the shared life of the community. Catholic school education mentors children to learn to respect themselves and others, and appreciate the beauty and wonder of the world around them.
