Anointing of the Sick
“Is anyone among you sick? He should summon the presbyters of the church, and they should pray over him and anoint with oil in the name of the Lord.”
James 5:14
The Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick is a special opportunity for the Lord’s healing power to touch those who are experiencing an illness or the aging process. The Sacrament unites the one who is sick with the suffering, death and resurrection of Christ so the sick may know the healing presence and love of the Lord, be strengthened in faith, and experience the support of the Church.

Anointing of the Sick is a sacrament where God invites you to reconnect with him. It welcomes you to receive Reconciliation as it is administered to those who are sick, those preparing to undergo a surgery or those in need of the Lord’s help for the recovery of their physical and emotional health and for spiritual strength.
Anointing of the Sick helps you to share more fully in the cross of Christ. By so sharing, you contribute to the spiritual good of the whole Church. By the fact that you share more fully in the cross of Christ through anointing, you are being prepared for a fuller share in Christ’s Resurrection.
